Latest Report from the Director - March 11, 2024
This last Wednesday we had our regular Zoom meeting with the state office including an inspiring message from God’s word by our CEF President Jeremiah Cho. We also heard encouraging reports from around southern California of new clubs opening and fundraising banquets.
My days are filled with teaching and interacting with children.
- • On Mondays I have the joy of doing Good News Club with 10 to 12 kindergartners. Their hugs are spontaneous. Their faith is sincere. Their energy is abundant. They are learning to trust God and I am learning a little patience.
- • Tuesday is usually in Beaumont with about 40 great kids. Our host and main teacher Mrs. K really connects with kids. She is already talking about continuing next year and she is working on getting more teachers involved. This week we talked about what it means to be a witness for God.
- • Wednesday means AWANA. Val and I volunteer each week. We were invited to share about our missionary work in Russia with CEF and also introduced a Good News Club action song video, which the kids love. I also help lead GNC at CECA, where we have children from K-8th grade. Our 8th grader is becoming a great helper.
- • Thursdays we have club at Calimesa Elementary with 40 to 50 challenging children. With my daughters teaching the club I often babysit my younger grand-kids for them. Since Ruby was born on Valentine’s Day I have been helping with club until she gets a little older. When I taught the lesson, I had one older boy hold the visuals for me so I could keep a closer eye on him. It helped some.
